The South Carolina Tobacco Festival will kick off its 53rd year with the Street Dance on Friday night in Lake City’s Town Square.
The Band of Oz will fill the town square with beach music from 8 p.m. to midnight.

The Florence County Disabilities Foundation will hold “Lake City’s Largest Yard Sale” at its thrift shop at 219 N. Church St. from 7 to 10 a.m. Saturday.

The festival Beauty Pageant also will be held Saturday at the Blanding Street Auditorium, 125 S. Blanding St. Different age groups will take to the stage throughout the day.

This year, however, the Town Square will feature no festival activities on Saturday.

On Sunday, the Lake City Country Club will sponsor the festival’s golf tournament. Call (843) 373-1192 or the country club’s Pro Shop at (843) 374-3415 for more information on the tournament.
